Major Incident And Delays Dublin Cork

October 18th 2005

The new Cork Dublin Express train while under test struck a number of cattle north of Limerick Junction at approximately 8pm on 18th October. The train suffered some damage and was reportedly derailed following the impact. Thankfully there are no reports of injuries. By sheer luck this was a test train and no passengers were onboard.

If you were aboard any service effected, 7.30pm Cork Dublin and possibly the 9:00pm Dublin Cork you are entitled to a refund. Either download the form here or pick up a customer charter refund form from the customer services desk at Heuston Station.

Fencing and level crossing gates are Iarnród Éireann's responsibility by law.

If you were delayed as a result of this get in touch, report your experience
