![]() CABLE CARS OVER THE LIFFEY
Irish Times Letter, 08.02.05 Madam, - I read there is a proposal for a cable car system running above the river Liffey. Will it be known as the Suas? - Yours, etc, JOHN DEVLIN, Erne Terrace, Dublin 2. |

![]() Is that really a proposal? Sounds interesting, thought pointless if they would learn how to do proper integrated public transport.

![]() I saw a letter objecting to this in Metro yesterday. Googling reveals the following:

![]() Our old friends from Shannon Beaux Walk properties according to the IT.
I am still wondering if we will ever see the promised rail link to that development be completed once they have what they want. There is no doubt that the 'Suas' project is a trojan horse for something else; there is considerable doubt that if granted permission that this project would be completed once they have what they are really after. |

![]() To think that the Loop line bridge impairs the visual amenity of certain parts of the city, can one imagine the impact of 4 large towers and cable cars floating over the city?
![]() I hope this project stays in the IT's letters section. |

![]() I'd have to see more about it but I think it could be kind of cool. IMO there is a serious lack of interesting attractions in Dublin. There are some nice buildings but not a whole lot more. It could be the most hideous thing known to man but I think Dublin is quite a boring city to look at and something like this could spice it up nicely.

![]() Madam, - John Devlin (February 8th) suggests that the proposed river Liffey cable-car system be called the "Suas". Given that it will pass the front of the Four Courts, would not the "Sue Us" be a more appropriate title? - Yours, etc,

![]() Madam, - The cable cars (if they ever appear) will have to be called Dublin Aerial Transport, so that when visitors ask "What's that?", we Dubs can say: "Dat's DAT". - Yours, etc,
