![]() Delays to all Northbound Northern suburban trains. Started with 17.10 Connolly to Balbriggan, delayed approx 10-15 mins somewhere around Malahide (I fell asleep!).
The 17.13 Pearse to Dundalk was then delayed for about 10 mins behind this. Checked on the IE website around 17.00, no mention of delays, and all services seemed on time, so not sure what went wrong....

![]() Same sets of delays this evening......Bray to Drogheda running 15 mins late, 2 previous Northern line trains were 10 mins late. No information re delays in stations, on trains or in displays so not sure why....

![]() The 1650 Bray/Drogheda service is a farce. It immediately follows a Malahide DART from Connolly and as a consequence struggles to average 20 mph to Malahide. The DART is almost always late and should be held at West Road to allow the Drogheda train overtake. Very hard to see people continuing to pay Intercity fares for such a pathetically slow service.

![]() The 17.55 Pearse - Dundalk train is exactly the same. A DART to Malahide goes 3 or 4 minutes before the commuter train, resulting in train crawling behind DART and then stops outside Malahide while the track is cleared for at least 5 minutes every everning.
Would make much more sense to swap these two trains. But I don't think Irish Rail and common sense go together ! |
