DART and Commuter services are to run after midnight on selected Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas, and on New Year's Eve.

All of us in Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail wish all of our customers and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for travelling with us throughout 2015 and we look forward to seeing you on board over the festive season and in 2016.

Late Night Services

The following late nights services will operate on the Thursdays 10th and 17th, Fridays 11th and 18th and Saturdays 12th and 19th December:

00.30hrs & 01.30hrs from Connolly serving all stations to Bray
00.30hrs & 01.30hrs from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
00.40hrs & 01.40hrs from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
00.20hrs & 01.50hrs from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth
New Years Eve

The following late night DART and Commuter services will operate on New Year's Eve:

01.30hrs & 02.30hrs from Pearse serving all stations to Howth
01.30hrs & 02.30hrs from Connolly serving all stations to Greystones
01.40hrs & 02.40hrs from Pearse serving Tara St, Connolly, and all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk
01.20hrs & 02.50hrs from Pearse serving all stations to Maynooth

Fares will be charged at normal DART rates, meaning customers can use Leapcard and buy cash fares for the cheapest Christmas travel option. Furthermore, holders of weekly, monthly and annual season tickets will be able to use the service at no extra charge.

Remember to stay safe throughout this Christmas season and if you’re enjoying a night out, use public transport – never ever drink and drive.

Night Luas Fares

A validated Leap Card or valid Night Luas ticket or a valid commuter ticket is required to use Night Luas.

For the best price use Leap Card. Night Luas costs €4 with Leap Card.
A Night Luas ticket from a Luas Ticket Machine costs €5.
For regular Luas commuters Night Luas is included in commuter tickets. Luas Tax Saver Monthly and Annual tickets plus Luas 30Day and 7Day tickets are valid on Night Luas.

Last Trams

Regular Luas services also have late operating hours so Luas is a good option for late night shopping and entertainment over the Christmas season any night;

I know Thursdays are busy but a little surprised IE feel that busy, guess Heuston will have to wait until PPT opens next year.

Does a person been required in Greystones not really defeat the purpose of Central Controlled System. I have no idea how it works but why are people required around the country if it's supposed to be a centrally controlled system.

Some great marketing and advertising on this, the vast majority in Malahide, Clongriffin and Portmarnock know nothing about it whilst others believe that they decided to simply skip these areas and not bother.

They've kitted stations and DART's out with advertisement of trains from Connolly to Bray/Greystones and Pearse to Howth, but not at a single station or train apart from Connolly is there any mention of the commuter trains that are running late that night.

My favourite poster is the one at Malahide advertising trains from Pearse to Howth and Connolly to Bray, without any mention of the commuters that will actually serve that station. Also the lack of any times apart from departure from the terminus is frustrating too.

It would have been far more sensible to produce a poster to be used across DART and Dublin Commuter services that mentions both sets of services, but that would make far too much common sense so instead people to/from Malahide take the dart, see the poster with nothing about the Malahide branch and think IE are simply not bothering.

Agreed, but a large number of people who travel to/from Clongriffin, Portmarnock and Malahide would not take commuter trains and would take DARTS, it just seems illogical not to have a single flyer including both the commuter and DART services on both types of trains.

You'd swear that some of the people who actually produce these materials and customer information don't actually use the services or think about things from the eyes of a passenger and think that passengers have the same knowledge that they do therefore prepare information based on this level of knowledge.

It doesn't surprise me, really it doesn't but considering the out of date signage, incorrect signage and plain daft signage that is found around the network and the general quality of passenger information to be found on board everything but the 8100 class, it's pretty much par for the course with Irish Rail.

Was in Connolly last evening (Sat) just after 23.30 and the additional services weren't on the tv type display at the entrance or on the main departures board.

Used public transport in Christmas Day, operating on Sunday schedule, to get an express bus and the subway home from the one pool in Toronto doing public swim (the joys of having a 4 year old kid with an onboard nuclear reactor).

maybe one day in my lifetime it might be possible to get around Ireland or even Dublin to a decent extent without a car...
