![]() After today's delay during rush hour i thought wouldn't it be nice if the techno-savy commuter could tweet their where-abouts and the delay or problem's involved and let other commuters know?
Eg: @RailUsersIe, Pearse 1705 NB Dart Broken,30 min delay, few announcements.Crowd building etc etc It would be pretty easy to do, and if all users followed both "RailUsersIe" and possibly each other they would be able to find out up to date information if they happen to look at their twitter on a web phone or have a subscription to one of the many other way's it can be accessed via mobile phone. Let me know what you all think? ![]()

![]() I think the usual way for public feeds is using hashtags (#CIEfail) rather than @messages
Example: Train stopped at Grand Canal Dock for 20 minutes due signals #CIEfail No buses because Harristown drivers unofficial action #CIEfail There are a few posts already with #irishrail and #dublinbus Here's how it works in Toronto: (#ttcu hashtag) http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23ttcu |

![]() Looks like Irish Rail are getting better at it. Two times today they've had travel updates announced in a reasonably timely fashion.

![]() OK, looked at the page source and eventually found it.
For some reason it's showing up for me (Firefox 3.0.11) as 1x2 pixel white on white. I can see it in reverse image if I highlight the page. How could I not have noticed it before |

![]() Worked out what it was - bloody Websense in work has started blocking Twitter, and any page with twitter in the URL, so it's blocking the Twitter logo picture. Odd I'm not seeing the alt-text instead though.

![]() I think that only really works for the twitter user "Irish Rail" - and only then when they are logged in.
You can see the Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann icons on the right here: http://twitter.com/irishrail/ Its a useful link to have.

![]() In these difficult times for commuters, it's good to see that IE's real-time service has maintained its usual level of service:
