![]() I know this may seem trivial but does anyone else think the current commuter livery should be changed? They are more or less the same colour as the dart which can be confusing esp for tourists etc. I think they are due a colour change

![]() I think the colour of the train is irrelevant, and would be meaningless to most tourists.
The real issue is the inaccuracy of platform information. I've often been waiting for a Drogheda train and have a DART come in ahead of it. The platform information will either still say Drogheda, or change to Howth at the last moment, with no verbal announcement. If there is a late change to the advertised order, there should be a clear announcement. |

![]() There will be three color schemes next year
Long distance will be silver with some green Suburban will be the current 'silverlink' scheme blue/white/green DART will remain in the two tone green If any livery is to change it will be the DART since the color scheme lacks contrast at the doors as required by accessibility rules Don't see a problem

A few years ago I was driving over my local bridge and there were some lads with cameras and notebooks hanging out to catch some trains. Yes, I do literally live about 100 yards from the Cork line. I pulled over and had a chat with them. They were all from the UK and I found them very nice people, they even called round to the house. Mrs thomasjstamp was not happy. true story number 2: there were two trainspotters on platform 5/6 in Heuston last Friday lunchtime. they stood at the end of the platform and, yes, they had little notebooks. Ah, bless ![]() |

![]() I have often gone to Killiney beach for the purpose of seeing a few Commuter trains pass. Since last Friday, I have seen two freight trains. This was the first time in over a decade that I had seen a freight train in these parts. The unit pulling the freight had obviously been painted from Orange and Black to Yellow, Silver and Black. Aside from this, it was just like old times. Would this be regarded as train spotting? If so, is it illegal?

![]() Sorry Mark for being off topic. I intended to end that last comment with the following and forgot to:
It is nice to see a variation in the livery of trains and that the Commuter brand tends to stand out a lot with it's Yellow front and Green, White and Blue sides. |
