Partition Doors to be fixed
While Irish Rail tried to explain why its so cold on the Mallow Tralee service they started to yap about the Mk4 train, which has never visited Kerry..... Got to love the classic ignore the actual complaint and yap about something unrelated.
Story goes the doors are defective (took them 3 years to work it out) and that they are being replaced to be sorted by sometime April 09 While the problems continue, the heating has been turned up to full (+2) so the train is boiling hot with the doors closed, so you take your coat off only to get frozen at the next station stop. Not forgetting its costing money to run the heating at full power

And don't forget the smell from the toilet as you tuck into your sandwich!

It'd be nice if they retro-fitted power-points at every table while they're at it, a glaring omission when the Mk 4 sets were originally commissioned. Wishful thinking of course..

Actually, that might not be as difficult a job as one might expect (even if they just fit them to some) - the ventilation is in the quarter-cyclinder duct that is as skirting board level (the vents are between seats). I imagine something could easily be semi-assembled and slotted into that.

Just a friendly reminder that you're straying into technical discussion a bit; please keep that to the members area.
