Three men have been arrested after what is believed to have been a stolen vehicle crashed at a Luas line in Dublin.

The white Honda Civic crashed on the Tallaght-Connolly line at the Davitt Road/Naas Road junction at around 8am this morning.

It had been being pursued by an off-duty garda and the garda helicopter.

The three arrested men have been to taken to Sundrive Garda Station.

Luas services are returning to normal.

There were no injuries and there was no damage to the line.

I had really hoped they were arrested for breaking the lights, ah well.....

Teenagers in court after car crashes on Luas line

Two teenagers arrested for travelling in a stolen car that crashed on the Luas tracks in Dublin yesterday morning have been remanded on bail.

The two south Dublin youths, aged 15 and 17, appeared before Judge William Hamill at Dublin Children's Court in connection with the incident on the Luas Red line between Tallaght and Connolly Station.

The pair, who were supported in court by their mothers, were charged with unlawful carriage in a stolen car at Davitt Road yesterday morning.
The pair were arrested at 8.10am, and taken to Sundrive Road Garda station where they were held for questioning.

They were released at 2pm and charged. They made no reply.

Judge Hamill was told that the arrest came after the vehicle, allegedly stolen in Portlaoise, Co Laois, was driven on the Luas line. Judge Hamill remanded the pair on bail until May pending directions from the DPP.

As conditions of their bail the teenagers have to sign on daily at Sundrive Road Garda station, and obey a nightly curfew at their homes between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
