![]() The RETURN FARE from Maynooth to Dublin Conolly/Pearse station is €5.50/- and it has 10 or 11 stops. But the SINGLE FARE from Maynooth to Kilcock or vice-versa is €4.50/- and is only ONE STOP. Why such a price difference?

![]() Maynooth is the edge of the Dublin suburban fare boundary so anything beyond there gets charged at inter city prices I believe.

![]() Kilcock Maynooth is 4.70
Maynooth Dublin is 3.00 The difference exists due to the fact all stations beyond Maynooth are classifed as intercity by Irish Rail, the lowest fare in the intercity matrix is 4.70 The real issue is the 8.60 single Kilkock to Dublin which is fairly ridiculous, its only 3.90 from Balbriggan which is further away This is one of the weird abnormalites Irish Rail have refused to address We have a fares calculator for this situation http://www.railusers.ie/passenger_in...ation_to=CNLLY
