![]() This bugs me
The last service to maynooth last year was the 20.10hrs service. This year its the 19.00 hrs? How come Dart services and Northern Commuters run til 21.00 on christmas eve and new years eve but maynooth is finished leaving Dublin at 7pm? ![]() |

![]() Why are there no Early trains on Christmas Eve on the Northern Line? yet there are on the 27th?
Christmas Eve is not a Public or Bank holiday? I realise loadings won't be great as lots of people are taking holidays but there will still be people stranded because of this. Hmm realise saturday service is getting better and only half an hour delay. Last edited by Colm Donoghue : 19-12-2007 at 20:13. |

![]() Fair enough that they don't run services on Christmas Day, but something should be running on St Stephen's Day. There are people who would need an afternoon or evening InterCity to get back to work for the 27th. Also, Dublin Commuter Services and possibly Cork ones should run to the Sunday timetable.

![]() The 1980s were a very different era. Many fewer people used the DART in general then and Ireland was mostly shut on St Stephen's Day. Now some of the shops start the sales then.

![]() In the absence of traffic the bus is actually quicker than the DART, I've lived next to the DART line all my life and never had need of a bus or train on the 26th and I don't drive either
Anyway IE are doing some digging in Pearse 25/26th so the line would be closed anyway

![]() most of us Irish wouldn't do anything on stephens day but there are still some that have to work, furthermore we have a sizable tourist population and we live in a multicultural country where not everyone follows the christmas tradition.

![]() Welcome to working on a Sunday Morning.
I could see an argument for some services on the 26th, but I don't think it pays. Just like it doesn't pay early on a Sunday morning when I need to be in work for 7. It pays the taxi drivers though!!! |

![]() Aye, its actually amazing on Sunday Morning the amount of taxi drivers still on the road. Drivers who don't like to work nights start really early on a Sunday, 5am, to cover the public transport shortfalls.

![]() Interesting rant in the (London) Times...
"The next train on Platform 2 is in 58 hours" http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle3095381.ece Of course, the problem she complains about is not unique in the Western world, as we know well... |
