Default Derek's new role.

As many of you may already know, I have stepped down from my position as spokesperson of RUI. That is discussed elsewhere. I remain a dedicated member though.

Therefore I am delighted to announce that I will be writing a regular column and stories on Commuting in Dublin in a new paper called the "Dublin Informer". This paper is distributed every forthnight to homes across the city. Obviously some of what I write about will be rail based and I look forward to being able to give as much coverage to RUI press releases as is possible. That said the remit is a lot broader in terms of content and will incorporate everything from Trains, buses, bikes to traffic gridlock, taxis etc.

So look out for me (if you're in the Dublin area) as I dissect, lament, rant, solve and report on as many aspects of commuting as my keyboard can handle.

Derek - if you're ever stuck for an idea for a column you could have a look at this guy's back topics for inspiration - he has a similar column in one of the local free commuter newspapers.
