Default TRIALS OF RAIL TRANSPORT

Letter Ed, Irish Times 06.04.07

Madam, - With regard to Minister for the Environment Dick Roche's recent urgings for more people to use public transport, I wish to inform the Minister that due to the substandard service on Irish Rail I shall gladly return to road travel. For the second time in two weeks it has taken three hours to complete a one-hour journey. This, coupled with various minor delays, means that over the past fortnight I have lost almost eight hours in both working time and time spent with my family.

Fortunately my SSIA matures this month and the Minister's Government will provide me with the additional funds neccesary to invest in adding to the number of cars on our roads. - Yours, etc,

R. WHELAN, Roschoill, Drogheda, Co Louth.
