![]() Driver will switch ends at Connolly and the tram will drive "backwards" down Mayor Street.

![]() Is that not silly beyond belief ... , so we have a wye that's just for connolly station ? Surely it would be easier to schedule 1/3 of services just for Connolly and the rest carry straight on.
Alternatively kill the Connolly wye entirely and run a overbridge from Busaras to Connolly. |

![]() Line A could operate Tallaght-Connolly and Line C could operate Heuston-Point Depot.

![]() the section of the line between abbey street and connolly is slow enough without adding this farce of going into connolly and reversing out again towards the point.
It should be a split line. say trams from Citywest go to Connolly and trams from Tallaght go to The Point. that is how the RER works in Paris with many branches operating. If a 10 minute service operated on both routes then if timetabled properly a 5 minute service could run on the shared part of the line |

![]() On the daily rush hour if the train has to reverse and driver change ends in connolly the IFSC passengers for mayor street will all just get out at Busaras and walk to work. This doesn't leave many customers left onboard except those going to the yet to be built point village.

![]() Eradicate the wye at Connolly after building the extension and put an overbridge in from Connolly concourse across Amiens St. down to Busaras [ badly needed in any event ]

Tram arrives at Connolly from Heuston, (some) passengers and driver disembark. At the other end of the tram, another driver gets in and takes the tram to the Point. Driver then walks to the approach end of the platform and takes the next tram to arrive. And is able to catch some air and walk off some of the stress from having to deal with Heuston-Connolly. It works better with bigger trains, but might be useful. I wonder if there is space to create a turning loop on Amiens Street / Harbourmaster Place. ![]() |

![]() they could compensate for the delay by actually giving the tram some bloody priority between connolly and heuston. the amount of time it takes to get across amiens, gardiner and o'connell streets - you are literally quicker walking.

![]() I understand CIE are proposing to build a new bus interchange in the Connolly car park. It would have been nice to know that before the order was approved.

![]() What's the new bus interchange about? Overflow from Busaras?
All the Kildares Bus Eireanns seem to have moved over to Georges' Quay away from the Busaras freeing up some more space. If anyone has ever been to Buenos Aires they have a very spacious bus station on two levels on the outskirts of the town. There was talks before of moving the Busaras to the M50. |

Again, this CIE "plan" has only been made public after the railway order for the luas extension was made. |
