A woman in her 30s has been seriously injured in an incident involving a Luas tram in Dublin.

The condition of the woman, a pedestrian, is described as life-threatening.

The incident happened close to the junction of Naas Road and Davitt Road this evening.

A woman in her 30s is in a critical condition having been hit by a Luas tram in Dublin.

The accident happened close to the junction of Naas Road and Davitt Road at around 8pm last night.

The injured woman was taken to St James's Hospital.

GardaĆ* investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

They are looking for anyone who was travelling on the Luas line or in the vicinity of the Black Horse Luas stop yesterday evening between 7.45pm and 8.15pm to contact them at Sundrive Road Garda Station on 01-6666600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666111, or any Garda Station.
