Default [26-05-2012] 17:00 Dublin-Cork has failed.

We're in Inchicore, and not moving.

At least one train has overtaken us, so it looks like they may be able to limit the knock on effects to other services.

We're moving again now.

If it weren't for the fact the 17:05 has got ahead of us, this could be an interesting test of how fast they can get to Cork.

16:00 also died apparently but it didn't leave the platform so the spare ICR set was rolled in and everyone swapped over

Sadly no spare ICR to cover the 17:00 and the 17:05 to Tralee has already overtaken and is already approaching Newbridge so has a good 20 mile head start on you

We got overtaken by a second train, which I assume was the 17:10 to Athlone.

We're now not moving west of Kildare, which I hope is because of trains being in the wrong order going through Portarlington and not another mechanical issue.

Looks like it's going to be one of those evenings...

Irish Rail made a right mess in Heuston today and most could of being avoided.

The PA system was not working in the main concourse of the station (glass area) so any info given couldn't be herd by most people.

The 16.00 to Cork had failed at 15.30 and then they keep saying boarding will commence as sonn as possible. At 15.55 passengers moved to plt 3 onto a ICR (had being for Galway). It departed at 16.10 and then the failed Mark4 was hauled by an 071 engine and instead of doing the sensable thing and taking it to Inchicore they decided to park it at the side of plat 8 which required the 071 to change sides which blcoked all services into Heuston.

A Out of Service premair class train arrived on Plt 3 at 16.25 and sat there. Another train arrived on Plt 4 at 16.30 and Galway train started boarding. It became very congested in the main station area and then the 17.05 to Tralee started boarding and Waterford passengers were sent to plt 6 to help things but we had to wait for any set numbered 22041-45 (more seats) which arrived at 16.40 and then things go back to normal.

There was delays to services arriving from Portlaose as if they had being on time there would of being no late departures and the late boarding for 16.25 Limerick, 16.30 Galway and 16.35 Waterford services get closer to departure every week as the trains are late arriving from depot.
