Exclamation Cherrywood Green Line Parking (lack of)

There is no parking at any station on the Cherrywood Green line

There is promised a park and ride at Carrickmines however it will be some months before it is opened

Parking at Brides Glen & Cherrywood is private and will risk a clamp from the nice NCPS people and cost you €120

I agree that this is crazy. I was on it yesterday, and I could not believe how close it was to the M50, how many empty spaces there are around it, and yet how there was no P+R. I would also normally assume their were vested interests blocking such a development, but in this case, everyone is a loser.

Quite a few people parked on the main road outside Druid Glen / Tullyvale. I'm not sure of the legalities. Roughly where the blue wheely bins are here: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=sw6...19&lvl=2&sty=b

Lots of signs on Valley Drive warning of clamping.

I understand hundreds tried and failed to park in Cherrywood as they had done at the weekend, stopped by security. Trams were of course leaving practically empty. DB should quickly take up the slack.

Well done, Mark, for bringing the Luas green line extension parking farce to national attention in today's Independent.

I suspect this may kick start something being done; it's not in the interests of the government nor the Luas opreating company to be operating a costly high frequency tram service that no-one can access.

What's happened to the impetus that Dublin Bus had? I thought the 111 was supposed to be going to Cherrywood? It seems they are happy to implement the Network Bus recommendations because they are told what should be done by an outside agency, but can't make sensible decisions themselves.

I did mention the bus issue when I was on Newstalk at lunchtime.

It is crazy, but really Dublin Bus can't get the bus stop nearer the Luas until someone takes control of the situation in Cherrywood.

To be fair trams are arriving in Sandyford with all seats taken and with many standees during the morning peak which is welcome.

There will be a 300 space car park at Carrickmines some time soon.
