I was on the 08:05 Heuston-Westport last week and it left Tullamore 17 minutes late due to having to cross a delayed ex Galway train coming the other way.

By the time the 08:05 train got to Athlone it was only 6 minutes late !!

The timetables are padded so the IE clowns can say that high percentages of their trains run "on time" to make the customer charter look good.

Bit of a joke really, customer charter almost seems to do more harm than good !!
