Yikes. Would have thought Sallins would be ok given there's a loop there to add some flexibility, guess not.

Not a word anywhere about the fault at Howth Junction and delays of 30 minutes+ on DART and Northern Commuter services from 20:00 or so.

The plan was to move it into the loop at Sallins if the set could move without assistance however it required the 18.10 to Portlaoise to push it and Newbridge was picked so passengers could get off and transfer to another train. Some of the engines on the 18.15 had to be shut down.

Was a locomotive fault in the area.
