![]() There was an incident on the Red line luas last night. The Luas came to the bridge(sean o'casey i think) at Heuston at about 17.50 (travelling in direction of tallaght). The Luas was stuck there for about 10 mins. Some people got a bit anxious about missing their train, so somebody pulled the emergency door release. Nothing happened...door wouldnt open, so somebody else pulled it again to be sure. 2 mins later the luas took off...and as it pulled into the Heuston stop, the door flew open...and emergency brakes kicked in.
Now, I'm not condoning that people pull the emergency door release because the Luas is delayed...but if u pull it the doors should open...bit of a worry if there was an actual emergency |

![]() Thats not good.
The instructions are to pull the handle down and then push the doors out and slide. On all trains and trams simply pulling the release will not physically open the doors, it just unlocks them
