Sligo, Northern Commuter & Malahide DART disruption by Corporate Communications

UPDATE 06.50hrs Fri 12th March

Due to a signalling telecomms fault, all services on the following routes are currently suspended:

- Sligo/Dublin (incl Longford commuter), although please note Maynooth commuter services are operating. Bus transfers being arranged for Sligo line. Docklands to Clonsilla services are cancelled - these trains will instead take up the running of Longford/Dublin trains on their scheduled operation between Maynooth and Dublin

- Northern commuter services (Dundalk/Drogheda to Dublin, incl Dundalk-Dublin on Belfast Enterprise)

- Malahide DART services (Howth-Bray/Greystones are operating)

Dublin Bus are accepting rail tickets in North Dublin areas affected.

We are working to rectify this fault as quickly as possible, and apologise for the inconvenience caused.
As always with Irish Rail how on earth this has happened we cannot explain

First train moving is the 7:12 Drogheda Bray currently 15 minutes down

7:37 Malahide Dún Laoghaire left Malahide early as the clock in the signaling system is now off by 4 minutes. It was in Portmarnock by 7:35

Other Malahide originating services started from Howth Junction

At least they had a bus / buses laid on at Mullingar and there were no real delays, I actually got in to work a few minutes earlier than usual.

If I'm not mistaken, is that two northside signal fault in the am this week?
I think there was one earlier on this week affecting southbound services.

Its more like the 4 major fault this week, one in Galway, Heuston and 2 on Northern line

Usual mess from Irish Rail, failure to resort to the back up procedures leaves people stranded.

How on earth did Maynooth Sligo go wrong, its not even controlled from Dublin its controlled from Mullingar. If Dublin losses control of the North Dublin system it can be controlled from Drogheda

I was surprised nobody mentioned this last week so I will now, Last Wednesdays 18.30 Dublin Rosslare service arrived into Gorey at 21.55 because of the signal faults. The train stopped between Greystones and Kilcoole with a red signal and sat there for 55-60mins. The train traveled backwards to Greystones were literally everyone got off and had a cigarette. The signals also at Greystones were red so the DART could not proceed to its schedule. At least everybody onboard got free tea/coffee and snacks from the trolley free of charge for the massive delay.

We arrived into Wicklow station at 21.10 If I was frustrated with the delay I could image the people at Wicklow they were seating there since 19.42

just thought i'd add to the above signal faults.
