Irish Rail

St Patrick's Day Timetable

All schedules
Some alterations, especially to early morning services.

Portlaoise/Thurles Services:
For Portlaoise and Thurles services see Dublin/Cork/Dublin Timetable.

A Sunday service will operate
to/from Newbridge/Kildare.
to/from Drogheda/Dundalk.
to/from Maynooth. Docklands Station will be closed on this day.
on DART.
Cork/Cobh Services:
Cork/Midleton Services:

No Service
Ballybrophy – Limerick (via Nenagh)
Limerick Jctn – Clonmel – Waterford – Rosslare Europort

St. Patrick’s Festival events, Friday 12th – Wednesday 17th


• St. Patrick’s Festival Treasure Hunt – Saturday 13th March, Registration City Hall 10.00-13.00hrs
• St. Patrick’s Festival Big Day Out – Sunday 14th March, 12.00-18.00hrs, Merrion Square.
• St. Patrick’s Festival CéilÃ* – Tuesday 16th March, 16.00-19.00hrs, St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.
• Festival Parade – 17th March, 12.00-14.00hrs. Starting at Parnell Square.
• City at Play Festival Funfairs – 12th-17th March, Merrion Square, Wolfe Tone Square and Custom House Quay.

DART services, St. Patrick’s day 17th March

Wednesday 17th March – Please note Tara Street station will be closed until 16.00hrs.

A Sunday DART service will operate

DART special trains will operate before and after the Festival Parade.

Southside DART specials will operate to and from Pearse station only.

Northside DART specials will operate to and from Connolly station only.


Commuter services, St. Patrick’s Day 17th March.

A Sunday service will operate to and from Maynooth, with some additional special trains before and after the Festival parade.

A Sunday service will operate to and from Drogheda/Dundalk.

Note: • 09.15 Pearse/Drogheda will commence from Connolly at 09.38
• 20.15 Pearse/Dundalk will operate to Drogheda only.

Avoid the queues, travel early and buy return tickets.

All tickets can be purchased in advance from any Iarnród Éireann booking office.


Because of the large numbers of people expected to travel over the St. Patrick’s festival, services may be delayed.

Closed Sunday 14th March and St. Patrick’s Day 17th March

extra commuter services supplementing the sunday service on the maynooth line are:

09:45 maynooth connolly
10:00 maynooth connolly
11:05 maynooth connolly
12:00 maynooth connolly
13:00 maynooth connolly

14:15 connolly maynooth
15:15 connolly maynooth
17:20 connolly maynooth

there also maybe adjustments to the scheduled sunday services
