[12-12-2009] 18:55 clonsilla pearse
I had a christmas party near stillorgan tonight and decided to take the train tonight and take a taxi onwards to stillorgan.
anyway, I was getting the 18:55 Clonsilla Connolly. This was scheduled to get into connolly at 19:18 with the next DART to Greystones at 19:28 Anyway , on arriving at clonsilla there was a few minutes wait. The train arrived two minutes late and the driver decided to wait on women who were buying their ticket. The women took forever to purchase the tickets and slowly got onto the train. The end result being the train leaving five minutes late on departing drumcondra, i checked the real time results and noticed that maynooth to pearse was next to arrive at connolly in 1 minute with the next dart due in five minutes leaving killester. Anyway the maynooth train was held in drumcondra for the five minutes while a north and the south bound dart train i was trying to catch. Another two minutes to wait and we finally moved in. Arrived into five and the next dart was due in seventeen minutes. If i had've Waited on that train i would have been late . So i went and caught a taxi. So i am understandably annoyed but resigned to nothing been done about it and it repeating itself again. Go figure ! Last edited by ThomasJ : 13-12-2009 at 03:03. |

I feel your pain.
I really think IR do not believe that people might want to catch a connection train. Especially on the Sligo/Maynooth line. |

More connection fun
One other thing I have noticed is that they seem to be making much more use of Platform 6 southbound in the morning. Just what you need when the morning Sligo intercity arrives into platform 1 (with platform 4 empty).
I hadn't really had a chance to get used to the connection pattern with the new timetable as the Sligo line has been so bad so I don't really know how it works now. And I'm thanking my lucky stars that we have moved office so I don't have connect any more. |
