Intercity railcar on commuter service
The 0720 from Maynooth to Connolly this morning was one of the new Intercity trains. I think it was the same last Monday. Very uncomfortable for anyone getting on after Clonsilla I'd say. Anyone know why they do this now?

To do with yesterdays works at Lansdowne Road?
Could it have been that the resources used for yesterdays Greystones Rosslare Europort services were kept on the route for Monday Morning services with the net result of a shortage of resources where the 29k that was used for the 06:00hrs Gorey Connolly. and the 22k used to run the service that that 29k set would usually run. Sure that service for this morning would be ideal the 29k used on the gorey service would arrive in connolly just after 8 as would the 22k from the 07:22 Maynooth Connolly so they probably would have done a direct switch with the 22k and 29k so that the 22k would be used on the 09:05 Connolly Sligo and the 29k used on the 08:08 non-stop Connolly Maynooth and 08:40 Maynooth Connolly Last edited by ThomasJ : 25-05-2009 at 09:46. |

Would appear related to the Lansdowne Rd blockade, there where similar issues back in the DASH upgrade a few years back
Yes it is ridiculous to send out a intercity train on a commuter service which struggles to cope with the demand
