Default [20-4-2009] Northbound Services

A 8 coach DART heading northbound was taken out of service at Pearse with some class of door problem

It went past Westland Row with the very last passenger door open but no one onboard

Obviously going to be a huge number of passengers at Pearse for the next train

Edit for the record there was a maintenance member of staff in the rear coach, who even closed the door using the hidden door close button as it cleared the Westland Row bridge

Signaling computer in Connolly seems to be off as well, the online information is either blank or showing everything on time

Northbound and soutbound services were still delayed at 19.00 hours. Blamed earlier train failure at Pearse.

17.05 or so Howth Dart broke down right infront of me. The "flagmen" looked up and down as the doors opened and closed a few times. He then walked to the head of the train and chatted with the driver. Out of nowhere additional technitions started running up and down and passengers kept trying to get onboard. After around 15 minutes or so they announced that the train was out of service.

A further 10 minutes or less passed and there was very few announcements, most of which were uninteligable for most of the crowd. Then the "female" announcer, the hardest to hear on the network started announcing "the next train on platform 2 will be a northbound train to howth." Above the din of careless Commuter passengers i was able to barely make this out and told the rejected dart passengers about the message. After 5 minutes and a few further announcements a mass exodus slowly took over the platform as people moved down the subway. The Dart sat there for another while with people still permiating over to it rather slowly. It eventually departed.

Within 5 minutes or so they managed to get the broken dart out of the station. And the Delayed 1713 Dundalk train arrived at maybe 1735 or so, exact time im not sure. Amoungst the squash the train filled instantly as the following commuter train's passengers for skerries etc took their chance's. A sweat box ensued and people continued to attempt to get onboard at both Tara and Connolly. Due to the empty track ahead of us, 2 darts delayed, the train made up it's time well with F' all driver announcements or apologies.

Whilst sweaty and cramped i managed to squeeze off one Twitter post to complain about my situation, the wonders of the modern world, where trains still f up but you can tell the whole planet from the palm of you hand...
