Having a little trouble figuring out how it could happen, I'd assumed the doors, but don't the doors automatically open again if there's something caught in them? |

![]() No idea, one can only assume the person was injured as the tram was moving into or out of the station.

![]() my wife witnessed the red line crash
tram was entering smithfield from town side and hit the front of a taxi that was probably breaking a red light heading north on a narrow lane that leads up to jameson distillery think crash happened here http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2446327 for those who don't know the smithfield stop is just to the left of the marker under the trees and in the shadow od the building to the south bumber of the taxi was dragged along under the luas not usre why we need all that detail but i thought I'd share ![]()

![]() If there were no legal impediments, the RPA should release the front facing camera footage of the crash to the new agencies. It would show that the Luas wasn't at fault and also show the damage done to your car if you think red lights are optional. Nothing like a bit of persuasive PR like this.

![]() There wouldn't really be a problem releasing the video after any legal cases pending are sorted.
There is a shocking trend toward stupid behavour on our roads, far too many tram vs car/pedestrian incidents and far too many close calls. Then you have the regular bridge strikes and level crossing issues on the main rail network The video would be nice, but without a jail sentence its just entertainment. Jail time is a message people understand
