Totally back the proposal. We need as much improved infastructure to mainland Europe (via England) as possible.

We need to move FREIGHT OUT OF DUBLIN (relocate the port to out north of the city). Not build a tunnel into Dublin. Why in heavens name would you try to jam up Dublin any more than it already is.

There were other proposals for a deep port in Shannon and a HSR from there to the Tuskar tunnel. That might help finance the project. However it shouldnt be a pre requisit.

Gauge's shouldnt be a problem because any HSR line for freight or people should be 100% segragated from the rest of the network.
