The reservation system wasn't working
There where more staff in first than passengers. No catering trolley to be seen, given one of the catering staff was camped in first doubt it was used. 3 miles north of Ballybrophy at the train host announced that there we would be shortly be stopping in Portarlington (no reason given). We where 21 miles away at the time. In the old days a guard was required to know where he/she was for safety reasons The ride was absolutely dire all kinds of shakes and vibration like nothing I've seen before. As members will know I now carry some sensitive equipment to record the bumps so we can rubbish IE claims the ride is better Despite a extra stop and 2 minutes outside Heuston we rolled into P4 at 22:09 a full 11 minutes ahead of time |

Well the data is in and the prize for the worst bump goes to something about 1km south of Templemore scoring a most impressive 0.8m/s^2. If I was the district engineer I'd be worried

To put some spec on this in 86.4 miles I got over 40,000 events greater than 0.08m/s^2 You would be surprised that what you would say is quite giddy registers quite low. It was the worst performance I've ever experienced it was all over the shop. Was on the same train, same coach months ago and it was ok. At times last night the whole coach would start to vibrate more akin to what it feels like just after landing on a jet
Prize for smoothest is just south of Ballybrophy Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 30-03-2007 at 15:01. |
