![]() Why would you delay the Galway Athenry commuter line until the Ennis Athenry line is done?
Surely the traffic getting into and out of Galway is far worse than any Ennis Athenry traffic issue. Is this more govt bull? Why don't IE have any link to these projects? the only link is to some "Galway Station Redevelopment" http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/project...evelopment.asp Which is about as informative as a page saying "this page left blank" |

![]() How long'd it take to build platforms at Oranmore? compared to relaying track and getting the new stations at the metropolis of Craughwell/ArdRathan/Gort built ?

![]() Oranmore - a bit like Midleton really. We've been hearing about a stop to Oranmore for donkey's years now.

![]() I particularily like the view from the Luxury developments of the oil storage tanks. Remind's me of Arkla and the view of the Fert.
How will building a new station cause more trains to run on the single line section of track? A transport interchange should probably be built near Athenry, that's where the 4 rail lines will meet and the roads will all meet there too.(N6, N18, N17) |

![]() Well we did the math on this many years ago and came to the conclusion that it is all but impossible to operate any commuter services unless the second track is reinstated between Galway and Athenry
You can be sure that sometime in the next few months news will surface about what is going on, we know and have known since August 2005 and it will come as a serious surprise, won't be much talk about Luas for Galway afterwards But you can be sure it will be presented as some class of wonderful extra by some politico |

![]() More like Blarney in that there's no good reason it couldn't have been done years ago and doesn't need to wait for the rest of the rail plan to be implemented.
