![]() Did you check under the bottom drawer in the chest of drawers. That's where I normally find stuff.
I have a myspace too, it's pretty recent so I can remember that I left it on myspace.com. I only was introduced to my space last month by Des Bishop, wasn't aware of it before then. (I'm also a member of the namedropping society which Frank Sinatra introduced me to). |

![]() Mine is a nice boring old Brian Condron. I'm very original with all my internet names.
So what exactly is linked in? (Just to get back on topic). MySpace for grown ups? |

![]() Linked in is sort of like hi5 which I was on (and linked it to my myspace that I cant find under the bed)
When you join the site tries to scan all your e-mail addreses and then sends a crappy thing like this to all your mates: "Hi, this is Tom here, have a look at this great site" follwed by a link you then press and hey presto it all starts all over again. When it askes to if you want to invite all your real-life mates to realise how sad you are, pretending you're a 15 year old girl or something on the internet, say NO. |

![]() jees you chaps can really go off topic!!
AFAIK linkedin doesn't do any of that emailing everyone crap. the idea is that you have 'connections' - other people that you know (that's the key) who are also signed up. once you are connected you can see your mates connections and they can see yours. so if i have 5 connections and they have 5 each then there is 25 people. then if i'm looking for a lawyer or a builder or a graphic designer or a international affairs expert (surely someone will need me someday!) or whatever, i have a look through the 25 and if someone fits the bill i either get in touch with them and say that i'm a friend of Derek's (e.g.) are you interested in getting involved in X? ( or i can ask my mate about them and see if they are what i'm looking for before getting in touch...) simple really although i understand if people are cinical about this kind of thing but it seems to work given that P11 is a pretty eclectic group i figured that there would be some pretty interesting connections to be made... I'm deliberatly pulling threads off topic to annoy Mulcahy. If you're all luck he'll ban me. Then I'll seek him down and pulverise him. If I find my myspeace I'll add it and you can all have a laugh at my blog (which is linked to my hi5 thing where the blog was slightly more interesting and shows how to deal with a stalker when you're married) |

![]() I'm a Guinness man myself, but have been enjoying Harp lager recently. I'm also quite partial to a bottle of Sam Adams now and then.

I actually got a few pint bottles of the stuff in a pub down home in Arklow last Spring. passable. I've found Co. Waterford the best for pint bottles of auld beer. Got Phoenix in Dunmore East a couple a years ago. Just after seein the reelin in the years and the ad for it. but normally Stout. |

![]() Going back on topic, I use LinkedIn. Although it can be compared to other social networking sites, it's purpose is as a professional contact management tool and somewhere you can get referrals for work that interests you.
It's already payed off for me when I discovered that someone I had to interview had worked with a friend of mine previously. Getting a direct recommendation is far more useful than and interview or reference. |

![]() I think it actually tastes nice to Heineken to tell you the truth. Heineken should only be drunk out of plastic cups in freezing cold terraces. Carlsberg would be my usual pub lager mind, but Harp is getting some small business from me.
