![]() Hi
I have recently purchased a folding bike for my daily commute but it's seems larger than I expected. its 91 cm x 70 cm x 25 cm. Is there any info available on the storage areas? Regards Don |

![]() I presume you mean storage areas on trains? It depends on the train you are taking.
Enterprise and Mk4s have luggage racks at the end of each coach. I find my folded bike doesn't quite fit under the lowest rack standing up, and I tilt it slightly sideways to fit it, but it goes in okay. If memory serves, the older 28K commuters have similar luggage racks. InterCity Railcars (22Ks) have a dedicated bike rack on each set, that accommodates any bike. There are also luggage rack similar to above. The Dublin area commuter fleet (29Ks) only have overhead racks. I find it best to stand the folded bike in the standing area by the doors. If the train is fairly busy, I'll lock to one of the handrails so I don't have to constantly keep an eye on it. There is also a space by the disabled toilet, but it's supposed to be for a wheelchair, so be ready to move it if a wheelchair user gets on. DARTs would be a similar story to 29Ks (except without the disabled toilet). Hope this helps. James |

![]() However, while you need to book standard bikes, there is no such requirement for folding bikes. The bike rack is handy if available, but if it's in use there are several other places to store a folded bike.
