I bet these drivers think it makes them sound really professional when they trot it out but the truth is that when someone apologises, you expect them to mean it and alter their behaviour appropriately. We all know that there will be no actions as a result of whatever delay we face so it is a hollow apology. It serves only to infuriate me. I'd rather the driver would come on and state that there's a problem, give a layman's explanation, a projected resolution time and leave it at that.
