Capacity arrangments from Jan 21st
Lot of question about this have been asked, we can confirm
6 coach trains (3 sets = 18 coaches) The 5:45, 7:00, 9:00 and 15:00 Sligo Dulbin The 11:05, 16:00, 17:05 and 19:05 Dublin Sligo 3 coach trains (2 sets = 6 coaches) The 11:00, 13:00, 17:00 and 19:00 Sligo Dublin The 7:05, 9:05, 13:05 and 15:05 Dublin Sligo All peak hour services in both directions are covered by full 6 coach train sets which will result in a very significant improvement in matters in the evening Irish Rail currently only have 18 of the new railcars in service, only 12 are on the Sligo line, so they need another 12, 15 for comfort in service for Monday Edit IE signed 6 more in this afternoon, so now only missing 6, or 9 to play it safe |
What knock-on effect will this have on capacity on the Maynooth commuter line from Monday? Will the 7:20 & 07:48 ex Maynooth now be able to be 9 carriage?
|
There will be no changes to the length of Maynooth line services at this time
|
I hope the 7.22 ex maynooth will be 8 carriages if it is then more than likely that the 8.08 non-stop to maynooth and 8.40 maynooth connolly will be as well.
ok wishful thinking. :( |

Mark,
What is the utilisation plan for the 29000's that will be freed up by using the new railcars on the Dublin - Sligo run? Thanks K. |
There isn't one since the 29000 railcars will still be running Sligo on Monday as IE are still 2 trains short for the full service
The 7:22 is likely to become 8 coaches in length, I know its horrible, but that could be some weeks before it happens |
All times are GMT. The time now is 20:01. |
