Think they are installing southern end of the northbound passing loop at Clongriffen.
The primary work on the 20th of April is, I understand, a partial renewal at Howth Junction where the inbound mainline crosses the outbound Howth branch.
The half baked layout at Clongriffin was commissioned last October. Although there are no scheduled movements it has proven useful on a few occasions to allow faster trains precede Malahide bound DART services. |

Yes the works you mention, each individually comparatively minor, were completed on Sunday. The relatively new switch diamond at Howth Juntion was replaced apparently to improve reliability.
Hard to see why DARTs could not have run to Clontarf Road on Sunday given no works between there and Connolly. |

And this morning?
Yes, I believe so !
Incidentally yesterdays delays were compounded by the casual diversion of the 0700 ex Greystones to run to Malahide (Instead of Clongriffin). This meant there were no inbound northern line DART services for almost twenty minutes along with delays of up to 15 minutes to outer suburban services and the 0650 from Belfast.
Doesn't really matter though as only passengers would have been late. However two drivers might have been late for tea break.
