Reserved seat but now seat not guaranteed
Hello
Around two weeks ago I reserved seats for Cork-Dublin train. Just day before travel I got email from Customer Information, that my booking has remained unchanged but IE can no longer guarantee the seat reservation I received with my booking. What are my rights in this case, I prefer to travel by car instead now, I think I am eligible for refund. Anyway, it wont be nice to arrive at station with lots of luggage and small child to discover after that your seat is taken and you have to run around the train to search free seats. |
I think if you got another seat you will not get a refund. Only happens if you are standing for the journey.

Ok thank you very much Jamie, will see tomorrow

Send us an email to info@railusers.ie with the reservation number and we will get some details from Irish Rail as to what is going on
If you end up standing you are entitled to a 100% refund in cash. Clearly you can cancel now as well with 100% This shouldn't happen |
I suspect it's a traction change.

Mk4 to ICR change
But the ICR train computer can cope with a manifest with impossible seats and the seats this passenger booked did exist, it shows the reservations for the seats it has, Mk4 on the other hand crashes the whole system The case is under review |
