Passenger Notice - Change to Service
06 April 2012

Change to Operating HoursPassengers are advised that from Monday April 16th 2012 there will be a new departure time for the last trams leaving Brides Glen (Green Line) Tallaght and Saggart Stops (Red Line).

There will be no change to the time of the last tram departures from the city centre outbound; St. Stephen’s Green and The Point.

There will also be some minor changes to frequency of trams on the Red and Green Lines too.

These changes reflect the difference in the numbers travelling outside of peak hours 7am to 7pm.

I assume that the reduction in service will be primarily on the extensions since they're the under-performing sections?

€1,5 million is almost nothing in Luas terms, and is being stingy for the sake of it. Obviously, the ticket fare increases haven't being the solution to their issues.

My sympathy goes to the drivers who have been made scapegoats by the company. The oned I have spoken to in recent times have complained of crass scheduling, and low morale. I'm not surprised.

Sad that Tallaght and Saggart will lose services, but the whole schedule needs a complete overhaul for the present time.
