Default CIS Screens in Kildare

CIS screens have appeared in Kildare and, presumably, also in Newbridge and Sallins which have the pillars installed.

Not turned on yet.

I heard from a member of staff that they are installing CIS screens in Thurles and Limerick Junction soon.

With the recent works at Kildare and Newbridge surly it can't be to long before they are turned on.

Is it IE"s long term plan for all stations to have screens installed?

The busy stations first I guess. Can remember reading in the Nenagh Guardian few weeks ago that NRP or Nenagh town council wanted one installed in Nenagh train station.

The railway station option included the introduction of electronic information panels to inform people of the times the next buses and trains were arriving and departing.

to be fair this would really be aimed at the bus services, and would be outside the station, not on the platform, had this proposal gone ahead. The existing stops near the courthouse can be mad, and one day a bus broke down pulling out of the limerick bound stop and caused mayhem.

Another 11 months pass and, finally, they are turned on but not displaying any information.

Now working but.....

On the Down platform, at approx 1850 it shows:
1853 Portlaosie
1858 Galway
1913 Portlaoise

but there's no train to Galway at 1858, at least one that stops, and there is a train to Waterford at 1907 which is not mentioned.

It's been like this since they were turned on.

Up side appears to work well.
