DART Fire
Thursday 14th December 21.38 hrs.

No notice from IE as of yet.

Still nothing from IE or news services. So no definitive confirmation on this report in relation to its seriousness or actuality. Perhaps tomorrow will bring some news.

was at pearse, gettin the 22.22 to balbriggan, no announcements at the station that i could hear concerning this.

I can confirm that a southbound train was evacuated at Booterstown just before 21:00 the exact time still requires confirmation
Have spoke to a passenger on board who reports a strong smell of burning in a coach and it was a LHB coach several staff appeared when the train was evacuated Most likely the 20:20 Howth to Bray or 20:25 Malahide Bray Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 15-12-2006 at 00:22. |

"LHB" means very old/original DART coach from 1984. We'll see what emanates. |

Sort of arson if this is blamed on the coach its almost certain yet another case of passengers suffering as a result of delays in the overhaul project

6. 18.20hrs – Driver of 17.15 Howth / Greystones stopped at Booterstown and advised smell of burning from unit 8625. Driver put through to Fairview maintenance. Train out of service at Booterstown and empty to Dun Laoghaire. Train departed 45 mins late, southbound services W.L.C. (see sheets).
