Question Break of Journey Options?

Hi

I know there is a section on the FAQs for this but I wanted to confirm it is still possible.

My home station is Newbridge.

I get the train from Newbridge to Cork once a month or so.
I buy tickets online in advance for a specfic train time.

I always need to change trains either at Portlaoise, Thurles or Kildare.

If I wanted to break my journey at these or any other stops on the route is that possible?

Am I likely to get hassle at the ticket barrier / ticket office if I try this?

Similarly if anyone travelling from Dublin - Cork wanted to stop off in Newbridge en route would that be possible?
Just thinking they could stop and visit me before completing the journey

Thanks in advance

Are these conditions of travel still valid?

If I'm reading it correctly I should be able to break my journey provided I travel on the same date

8.1 Except as may be specified in the publications and notices of and applicable
to Iarnród Éireann, the holder of an single ticket may break his or her journey
at intermediate stations on any route for which the ticket is valid within the
period of validity of the ticket.

8.2 Except as may be specified in the publications and notices of and applicable
to Iarnród Éireann, the holder of an return ticket may break his or her journey
at intermediate stations on any route for which the ticket is valid, provided the
journey is completed within the same calendar day, except where the
timetable does not permit, in which latter case the journey must be
completed on the next available service

Online tickets are service specific and you are liable for a 10 euro charge to move services.

If you purchase walk up tickets you can break journey.
