Default Dumped at Clonsilla

Perhaps this has been posted elsewhere: yesterday (Weds) morning's 07.12 from Connolly to Maynooth train stopped at Clonsilla. I got on at Drumcondra as normal and when we arrived at Clonsilla they then told us that there was no train running to Maynooth. All of the passengers got out of the train on to the platform. People from Clonsilla started getting on, knowing that it was their train to the city centre.

As I had to get to Maynooth ASAP, I called a taxi for me and three others. Irish Rail operative in the ticket office told us that "there are no bus stops around here". Taxi to Maynooth cost €37 which I intend invoicing IR for. Any tips on how to make that more successful?
