All services suspended out of Waterford due to second landslide at the station. Platforms closed as rocks have damaged rails and further landslide possible.

Likely to continue for some time

Main platform is blocked by a large rock fall

The two terminal platforms are available but are not being used

Given the location I expect all access to the signal cabin is stopped for safety reasons as it happened right next to it.

Bus transfers Waterford to Kilkenny, and Waterford to Carrick-on-Suir

01 January 2014

Due to a landslide on the line at Waterford Station, services to and from the station are currently operating as follows:

- On the Waterford/Dublin route, train services will operate between Kilkenny and Dublin, with bus transfers between Waterford and Kilkenny.

- On the Waterford/Limerick Junction line, train services will operate between Carrick-on-Suir and Limerick Junction, with bus transfers between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir.

We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.

It is expected that these arrangements will continue for a number of days, as debris is cleared, and as the bank adjacent to the Station is assessed, loose rock cleared, and works undertaken to secure the bank.

To add to the problems the station is now partly flooded, not to bad yet but water just over the rail heads.

On a local radio station it just mentioned that the road at Newrath is flooded (there's a level crossing there - a short distance beyond which the Dublin and Clonmel lines separate).

Hopefully the flooding at the station won't be anything like what it was some time ago when it reached platform level.

Bus transfers Waterford to Kilkenny, and Waterford to Carrick-on-Suir

03 January 2014

Due to a landslide on the line at Waterford Station, services to and from the station are currently operating as follows:

- On the Waterford/Dublin route, train services will operate between Kilkenny and Dublin, with bus transfers between Waterford and Kilkenny.

- On the Waterford/Limerick Junction line, train services will operate between Carrick-on-Suir and Limerick Junction, with bus transfers between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir.

We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.

It is expected that these arrangements will continue until early in the week commencing 6th January, as debris is cleared, and as the bank adjacent to the Station is assessed, loose rock cleared, and works undertaken to secure the bank. Furthermore, there has been some flooding in the area today (Fri 3rd January).
Journey planner also updated until Monday afternoon which it shows no Bus and Train services from late afternoon which also ties in with IRN reports that the bay platforms could be opened in a few days with special conditions due to no signalling and some train size issues.

The 07.10 services appears cancelled Saturday and Monday, remove from sale earlier but will be operating from Carlow at 08.00.

Bus transfers continuing as flood water receding slower than expected. Expected to open lather today provided high tides don't stop that.
