Default [04-06-2008] 11:00 Heuston to Cork

This train has failed at Mallow. Expect disruption to the 14:30 return service with a probable knock-on effect beyond that.

Default Buses

I am advised that buses are taking passengers on from Mallow to Cork.

The 14:30 is driven by Cork driver, so with a bit of luck the spare Mk3 set will roll out so delay will be minimal

Nothing on the IE site, the online thing says 10 minutes late, there is a spare locomotive in the platform in Mallow and given its downhill it should be able to tow the whole show to Cork with minimal delay

No idea what has happened to the 1430 but most of the passengers from the failed train have just been packed into the 1200 from Heuston.

14:30 is rolling as expected as a Mk3, about 10 minutes late currently

Reports from this are that train host Joe was very helpful and took extra care with the several reduced-mobility passengers on board. Top marks to IÉ on that one.

On the other hand the 1200 train squeaked into Kent Station at 1448, 2 minutes short of the 50% refund barrier for the folks on the delayed train.
