Default Irish Rail now charging Transaction Fee for Online Reservations

Booked my Cork to Dublin ticket and the weekend and got a pleasant surprise that it was €74. €2 for choosing to pay by Laser Card a so called Transaction Fee. I know its €3 for using a Credit Card (Visa) but this is taking the biscuit. Are Irish Rail trying to put people off booking tickets online when they want everyone to book their tickets online. In my opinion its cheaper to go into the station and get the ticket there and then. I know it wont guarantee you a seat but it probably will get a seat except for the bank holidays weekends.
This was never advertised and my opinion is stealth charge being imposed on everyone in these recessionary times. I must say that Im disgusted with Irish Rail over this new charge.
