Default [26-05-2006] - Lazy Staff

Went to catch the 1720 from Maynooth yesterday evening. Had planned to buy a one day bus + rail as I had a few journeys to make. Unfortunately the guy who works the ticket counter in Maynooth had decided he didnt want to be around to sell tickets. He had just shoved copies of the Star in the gaps where you put the money down, to indicate that there was nobody there selling tickets. Now, while that is annoying, I normally use the Ticket Vending machines, but alas they dont dispense one day bus + rail

So why dont IE put all of the possible ticket options on the TVM's if the staff are going to skive off selling tickets?

Technically since the ticket office is clearly closed you can legally travel without a ticket, the law does not reference ticket vending machines and believe it or not CIE had machines back in the early 1980's

The ongoing vending machine mess continues

I doubt the ticket checkers would believe me if I said the ticket office was abondoned in Maynooth.
The lack of options from the TVM's is frustrating indeed, I ended up having to purchase 4 individual trips because of the situation described above.

I suggest if you have a camera on your phone to take a few pictures of the closed ticket office and then show it to the ticket inspector.

I feel members as well as train users must start getting photo evidence of poor service from Irish Rail. Just takling about it wont get anything resolved.

Also if you have photos, you should try to send them to the newspapers.

If my phone wasn't 20th Century vintage that might have been an option
