Booking internal NI train tickets
I have to head down to the North on business in a few weeks time and I am trying to find out if there is any way that I can buy a ticket from Belfast to Derry online.
I am planning on catching an Enterprise which will give me 10 minutes connection time but I don't know whether that would be enough for me to get a ticket and get the Derry train. Can anyone here help? |

NIR don't do reservations full stop
While both IE and NIR managers deny it there is full through ticketing so Dublin Derry is no problem to the TVM's in Connolly. Irish Rail can issue you a through ticket to any station in NI which probably will be cheaper than buying two even if you pay IE the reservation fee, but only reserve Dublin Belfast, seat reservations are not honoured Belfast Dublin. Plus you are covered under EC1371/2007 the whole way IE cannot issue Belfast Central - Derry as its wholly within NIR

I understand that the fare from NEWRY to Derry is the same as Belfast to Derry... £10 single (or Day Return after 9.30am), £15 Day Return other times.
Not sure if that muddies the waters...! |
