Bus transfers between Waterford and Kilkenny

31 December 2013

Bus transfers are operating on all services between Waterford and Kilkenny at present due to a landslide on the line at Legan, north of Thomastown.

The 06.05rs train from Waterford to Heuston is out of service at Legan, and customers are being transferred to a replacement bus at a level crossing immediately adjacent to the train.

We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.

All services suspended out of Waterford due to second landslide at the station. Platforms closed as rocks have damaged rails and further landslide possible.

Line closed between Waterford and Thomastown, and between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir

31 December 2013

Due to a landslide on the line at Waterford Station, no services are currently operating between Waterford and Thomastown, or between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir.

On the Waterford/Dublin route, train services will operate between Thomastown and Dublin, with bus transfers between Waterford and Kilkenny.

On the Waterford/Limerick Junction line, train services will operate between Carrick-on-Suir and Limerick Junction, with bus transfers between Waterford and Carrick-on-Suir.

We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.

Likely to continue for some time

Main platform is blocked by a large rock fall

The two terminal platforms are available but are not being used

Given the location I expect all access to the signal cabin is stopped for safety reasons as it happened right next to it.
