Default problems this [31-03-2008] Monday Morning?

I was snapping that I didn't make it upto Clonsilla this morning to catch the 08:55 to Connolly. I got the bus instead which wasn't too bad even with heavy roadworks. By the looks of it I was lucky in not getting the train this morning.

I see on the intercity arrivals screen i see

Maynooth - scheduled 09:22 - expected 09:48
Maynooth - scheduled 09:52 - expected 09:52
Clonsilla - scheduled 09:47 - expected 10:12

Looks like one of those mornings! any problems this morning?

[guys could you edit the date on the title, monday morning blues not woken up yet!]

7:26 from Mullingar which usually arrives Connolly 8:48 or thereabouts limped in this morning at 9:18

Several apologies announced, technical problem with carriage at front section of the train apparently.

hi, the 9:10 from maynooth this morning was cancelled. i think he said due to technical faults.

also is there any sort of advanced warnings for the strikes which happened over easter in the future because i have exams coming up and wouldn't want to be caught in the crossfire and the bus jus isn't an option in the morning when you have to be in town on time.

Around these parts, we call the advanced warning system "Mark Gleeson".

I was on the 0805 ex Leixlip Louisa Bridge when it failed between Phoenix Park and Ashtown. I contemplated the leftover Metros, advising us all that one sausage a day "can cause cancer".

There was an announcement after twenty or so minutes advising us of a problem and with the usual rider that "Iarnrod Eireann apologises for any inconvenience caused". Of course the train at that time of the Monday after Easter week must have been stuffed with gricers looking for a diesel run to Bray, so I suppose it was best that Irish Rail's man on the spot decided to hedge his bets that there wasn't really a train load of peed off commuters texting like mad that they were going to be late.

We eventually moved on and I got off at Drumcondra, not wanting to chance another contemplative wait for the platform at Connolly.
