The 15:05 - Waterford - Heuston & the 17:40 Heuston - Waterford are both ticket only services.

The 15:05 and 17:40 services will be operated by a 4 coach 2700 railcar on that day. So no catering and no reservations.

I prosume thats why there is an extra 12 mins added on to the 17:40 but why is the 15:05 to Heuston running the normal time.

The 2700 may be able to make the trip within the alloted time on some legs of the trip, but there may be an opposing train at one of the passing loops.

09.00 Kilkenny – Dublin Heuston serving Muine Bheag (09.18) only.
09.30 Waterford – Dublin Heuston serving Thomastown (09.55), Kilkenny (10.12) and Muine Bheag (10.33).

18.20 Dublin Heuston to Kilkenny serving Carlow, Muine Bheag and Kilkenny.
19.30 Dublin Heuston to Waterford serving Muine Bheag, Thomastown and Waterford.
