last night, 27 Sept, got dart to Connolly to catch the 23:20 to Drogheda.
waiting around on Platform4 the train was dark and we were all locked out. at 17 minutes past some guy in a high viz jacket comes shouting saying the other platform and pointed ( well waved his arm) towards the dart platforms. Other people down the platform were moving back towards the station and to platform3. I reckoned this was the way to go but the wife was sure we should go to the dart platform. went down to P3 anyway but checked the main board in the main station. still said train was due to go from P4 We got on the train on P3 anyway. No pis no announcement before leaving, No train destination on the back of the train no display lit outside the door. |

15:55 Connolly-Sligo Mk2d Train stops at Drumcondra. Platform information shows all stations to Sligo, except Clonsilla. Next stop was Maynooth. |

Starting from July 21st the 15:55 called at Drumcondra no idea why but the platform display should be able to handle that
It should say non stop to Maynooth then all stations to Sligo, the legal position on this is it is your responsibility to ensure you are on the right train, now given IE have given clear and unambiguous notice (incorrectly of course) of the stations called at you could have some serious fun since you have taken reasonable precautions its not as if you are standing on the wrong platform Problem is will you meet a like minded judge? As I keep saying IE have a great get out of jail card since they have adopted the UK accessibilty rules but they are not enforceable. Maximum penalty in the UK is 10% of turnover of the business unit where they persist with knowingly displaying incorrect information |

I've a feeling the Drumcondra stop might be for DCU students to get home for the weekend, as quite a few seem to make use of it.
I hadn't noticed the platform information before, but I'll keep an eye out over the next few weeks. A fair few people thought about getting on, but then backed away. The next Maynooth service was 20+ minutes behind. |

IE have gone 90% of the way, with excellent on-board information systems, but if they don't use it correctly all the time, we can't really be sure it's right any of the time. It's alright if you get the same train every day, but it's the times you get a train you're not sure about that it really throws you.

saw a Dart the other day - Malahide bound according to the platform display, but the scroll said Howth. Where was it really going - who knows? Sorry for the non-specifics.
The 1737 Lansdowne-Gorey regularly arrives in lansdowne displaying "Maynooth" on the front. Often the 1732 Lansdowne-Maynooth is still in the station at the same time, so 2 trains, both displaying Maynooth, heading in opposite directions... great. |

PIS went mad and started to scroll everything backwards as in "htwoH rof si niart sihT" This only happens between Sydney Parade and Sandymount going north. IE are well aware of it but have not taken any action PA said nothing until Pearse Last edited by Mark Gleeson : 17-10-2006 at 08:49. |

8.38 ex howth junction to Malahide. Back carriage was 8640, my carriage was 8540.
Internal display said its to Howth, next station was Shankill the entire way. The volume dropped on the announcements just before the stop name so they couldn't be heard. The route map showed Bray as the next stop for the entire journey. Side displays were out on my carriage. Front and back were correct. The terminating station announcement was correct but it also played the 'change here for outer suburban connections', not sure if its meant to do that? |
