Default 12:15 Thurles to Cork

Standing room only on this train. 10 minutes late leaving Thurles for some reason.

Bank Holiday weekend and Jazz Weekend in Cork for good measure.

I'm a bit surprised a train that early is full though. Demand will only get heavier as the day proceeds

1300 to Cork was also heavily loaded - about 450 leaving Heuston. By the time it left Mallow there were around 130 passengers. By far the majority of passengers were for the Kerry road almost filling the six car ICR connection. Imagine the 1100 would also have been primarily Kerry traffic.

Part of the problems yesterday were that the 15.00 Cork and 17.05 Tralee were sold out. Reason is the online numbers are cut down from 5 STD coaches to 2 in the event a 4 car was used so 144 seats less per service available which would of pushed numbers up on the 11.00 and 13.00 services.

I am a bit confused by the previous post. Are you are not saying that a four-car ICR was used on the 1500 to Cork ? 1705 Tralee ? or just that the number of bookable seats was reduced by 144 on each service ?

The number of seats was reduced in the event of a 4 car being used, I expect not used on a Friday but would of being used mid week but they don't want online capacity to exceed 3 coaches in case a 4 car was used.

Old online capacity for 6 coach services.
Non First class services

First class services
36 (F)-72-36-36-72-36

Current online capacity

Both the Cork and Tralee services are scheduled with first class 22's. Possibly a bit of forward thinking could of being done for this weekend.
