Hazelhatch delays 05.09.13
On the 6.10 from Heuston to Portlaoise. Announcement that a train has broke down at Hazelhatch and we cannot depart. Anyone know if it is only the slow track blocked? Tempted to jump on 6.35 Waterford if fast track is open.

17.10 to Athlone failed after departing Hazelhatch, departures starting to resume while around 45 minute delays for services that went after the 17.10.
At least they did the sensible thing and stopped departures. Last edited by Jamie2k9 : 05-09-2013 at 17:42. |

The 17.10 train actually does not stop at Hazelhatch the first stop is Newbridge. Breakdowns are happening quite frequently now, will passengers be compensated again, like they were after the 9th July fiasco.

Wouldn't say breakdowns are happening a lot, its the first passenger service in a while to cause a hold up. remember in July it wasn't a train. Overall they handled it better than July. |

PS The delay in July was due to an incident at Kildare, which was sorted out by lunchtime, however the other causes, IR certainly had some control over: a signalling failure and the breakdown on a maintenance vehicle. - IR really run a shoddy service - ie. no investment. You should take the no investment up with Department of Transport as all they see bothered with is roads. The link below might give you some idea why such problems are happening and who is to blame for it.... http://www.independent.ie/irish-news...-29529647.html |
